Group Classes

M&A Dog Training offers a wide range of group classes, including basic and advanced obedience training, behavior modification, scent detection, tracking, in-home manners, off-leash obedience, and more. Our experienced trainers are dedicated to helping your dog become a well-behaved and happy companion.

Basic Obedience Class

6 Week Basic Obedience Group Class | Limited availability

We will practice nice loose leash walking, focus in a distracting environment, sit, down, leave it, look, place, stay, and socializing while respecting other dogs space. And there will be a chance to earn your AKC CGC (canine good citizen) or STAR Puppy Certificate. (Age dependent) We also offer LOAL (Love On A Leash) Therapy Dog Control Evaluations. The class is 6 weeks long, an hour each week.

Intermediate Class

7 Week Change In Location | Most Popular class

To sign up for this class, you must have done past Private Lessons with us or a Basic Obedience Group Class

In this class we will transfer all the basic obedience you've learned into different environments such as parks, stores, restaurants, downtown etc. As well as learning intermediate obedience such as down in motions, change of positions from a distance, focused/non focused heal, sit and down stays for an extended distance and duration, alternating recalls and much more.

Advanced Class

6 Week Advanced 1.0 Off Leash Group Class

E-collar Based | Limited spots available

This class is an off leash in close proximity non interactive group class which is ecollar based. Ecollars are required as there will be no leashes present. This like all of our other classes is non-interactive - meaning even though our dogs will be off leash they should not interact with one another. We will continue to work on all obedience as well as learn new advanced obedience in close proximity of one another.

Advanced 2.0 Class

6 Week Advanced 2.0 Off Leash Group Class

E-collar Based | Limited spots available

This class is for anyone who has participated in our past Advanced 1.0 Off Leash Group Classes. In this class we will work on Mastering all obedience in the past 3 classes that your dog has learned, as well as adding in more controlled obedience/tricks. This class is typically smaller then the others, which provides us the opportunity to give you more one on one guidance.

Tracking & Articles

8 Week Tracking & Articles Group Class

Tracking Basics: We will focus on the basics of tracking. Handlers will develop skills to lay a simple track for their own and other students dogs. The dogs will learn to put their nose to the ground to follow a scent, then follow that scent when it changes direction. We will also work with the handler's leash handling and the dog's article indication. This is an 8 week long course that is held offsite.

Spring & Winter Hiking

8 Week Winter & 6 Week Spring Hiking Group Class

In this class we will work on small group activities, while hiking local trails as a group in the Binghamton and surrounding area's. This class commits you to getting out and about with a group of other people and dogs doing activities to keep up on all the training you've laid in the prior months etc.

Maintenance Train & Play

6 Week Group Class | Past & current clients only

The Train and Play Group Class is a Limited Instructed Maintenance / Confidence Building Class. Limited Instructed means i will not be walking you through each activity. You will on your own start engagement to gain focus and work on your obedience you've been working on but in this new group environment. This class helps commit you to getting out of your house this winter and into a group environment with other dogs and people present, so that you are maintaining the obedience exposure, & socialization. We ask that you don't allow your dogs to meet nose to nose in the class environment.

AKC Trick Class

6 Week Binghamton AKC Trick Group Class

Come join us while we teach you how to master your most wanted tricks! This is a 6 Week long program 1 hour each session, teaching dogs fun tricks, with the opportunity to earn your AKC Trick Dog Title. (Novice, Intermediate, or Advanced)

Youth program

Our Youth Program is a six week long class we will meet 1.5 hours a week on the designated day. The first class a Parent/Guardian must be present, every class after that parents have the option to hang around or drop kids off and pick up after. The class is to help teach the foundation of dog training to children, and how to get them to be more involved. As well as helping their dogs, respect and obey them more. It helps create a bond that a lot of dogs lack with children. Dogs may not have any major behavioral issues. There are four spots and two instructors, for safety & more one on one time.
